THE MODEL

Two Rooms, One Practice

Most therapy gives you one room. The Community gives adult clients two doors into the same work: an individual room for discovery and a group room for practice.

“
Group therapy acts as an amplifier of the therapeutic process begun in individual therapy. Individual therapy is used for discovery and analysis, and group therapy is used for implementation and healing.
That's Grey Donnell, our founder, and it's the sentence the whole practice is built on.
ROOM ONE
Discovery

For our adult clients, individual therapy includes group. There’s a runway, though, not a cliff: no one joins a group in week one. Movement toward group is the expectation of the therapeutic agreement, intake screens for readiness, and you and your therapist decide together when you’re ready for the second room.

ROOM TWO
Implementation

The second door swings the other way too. Groups are open for enrollment to anyone who isn’t a Community individual client, including people in therapy elsewhere, whose therapist stays their therapist (with their consent, we coordinate with them if desired), and people not in therapy at all.

Why Community?

Because the research keeps pointing the same direction: connection tracks with health. According to the U.S. Surgeon General’s 2023 advisory, “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” about one in two American adults reports experiencing loneliness. We built a practice designed to treat that, not just talk about it. The full case, with every study cited, is on our why community page.

Who We Help

Adults come to The Community for individual therapy that includes group, and we also see teens 14 and up. Teen clients work individually with Erica or Grey. Teens never join adult groups; as our teen community grows, we form groups specifically for them. As well as individual work we offer couples therapy, family therapy, groups, workshops, recovery coaching, and leadership training. Individual, couples, and family sessions are available via telehealth anywhere in Georgia, and three groups, The Lunch Bunch, the Tuesday Process Group, and Anger Management, meet virtually. If you’re weighing where to begin, start with how the pairing works on our individual therapy page.

Group sessions beyond your individual frequency are $10 each. The group-only rate is $25 per session. Building Better Relationships, our trauma and recovery intensive, is $50 per session for 12 sessions. The full picture is on our pricing page.

For our adult clients, group therapy is the aim and expectation, and nobody joins a group in week one. You and your therapist decide together when you’re ready; the on-ramp is part of the design. This is born from the conviction, built through experience, that group enhances individual work in a multitude of ways. The full picture of how the pairing works is on the individual therapy page.

Grey Donnell, a Certified Addiction Counselor, founded The Community. You can read who Grey and each of the other four therapists work with, and reach them directly, on the team page.

Individual, couples, and family session rates are determined by the individual clinician, and each therapist’s rate is on their page. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult. Low-fee spots are limited and vary by therapist. Your individual fee includes a group at the same frequency. Group and group-only rates are on the pricing page.

We don’t bill insurance. We keep pricing simple and set fees with you directly on a sliding scale. We believe that keeping insurance providers out of the equation allows our clinicians to make more clinically sound decisions with the aim of your well-being in mind, not focus on writing notes so your insurance will think you need therapy. At your request, we can provide superbills you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. The details are on the pricing page.

Yes, teens 14 and up. Teen clients work individually with Erica or Grey. Teens never join adult groups; as our teen community grows, we form groups specifically for them.
