THE
ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA

People are better in community.

The Community is the Atlanta practice where, for adult clients, individual therapy always includes group, and groups are open for enrollment to everyone (18+). One room is where you understand your life. The other is where you practice changing it. We’re a therapy practice in downtown Alpharetta offering individual, couples, and family therapy alongside a full catalog of therapy groups, with individual clients starting September 2026 and groups beginning early October 2026.

TWO ROOMS, ONE PRACTICE

Most therapy gives you one room.

The Community gives adult clients two doors into the same work: an individual room for discovery and a group room for practice.

For our adult clients, individual therapy always includes group. There’s a runway, though, not a cliff: no one joins a group in week one. Movement toward group is the expectation of the therapeutic agreement, intake screens for readiness, and you and your therapist decide together when you’re ready for the second room.

The second door swings the other way too. Groups are open for enrollment to anyone who isn’t a Community individual client, including people in therapy elsewhere, whose therapist stays their therapist while we coordinate a release of information, and people not in therapy at all.

“Group therapy is a force multiplier for individual therapy. Individual therapy is used for discovery and analysis, and group therapy is used for implementation and healing.”
GREY DONNELL, FOUNDER

That’s our founder, and it’s the sentence the whole practice is built on.

OPEN TO EVERYONE (18+)

Each begins with a screening conversation with its facilitator, and you don’t need to be a client here to join one:

AMERICAN ADULTS
WHY COMMUNITY?

Because the research keeps pointing the same direction: connection tracks with health.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General’s 2023 advisory, “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” about one in two American adults reports experiencing loneliness. We built a practice designed to treat that, not just talk about it.

The full case, with every study cited, is on our why community page.

WHO WE HELP

Adults, Teens 14+, Couples, Families

Adults come to The Community for individual therapy that includes group; teens 14 and up work individually with Erica Peavy Welsh. Alongside individual work we offer couples therapy, family therapy, groups, workshops, recovery coaching, leadership training, and spiritual direction.

Individual, couples, and family sessions are available via telehealth anywhere in Georgia, and some groups will have virtual options. If you’re weighing where to begin, start with how the pairing works on our individual therapy page.
