What Therapy Costs at The Community

At The Community, each therapist sets their own rate for individual sessions. Each therapist’s rate is on their page. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult. Your individual fee includes a group at the same frequency, group sessions beyond that frequency are $10 each, and the group-only rate is $25 per session. We publish our prices because the fee conversation shouldn’t be a trap door at the end of intake; it’s a standard step at the free consult.

No insurance billed. First 15 minutes free, fees set in that conversation.

Why Do Groups Cost So Little?

Groups at The Community are intentionally affordable because group work is central to our philosophical and therapeutic approach. We believe there is unique value in being known, challenged, supported, and connected with others who are doing their own work. We don’t want cost to be the reason someone misses out on that experience, so The Community does not add an administrative fee to group participation. Our clinicians believe in the power of groups enough to offer them at a low cost, with the hope of making meaningful group work accessible to more people. We have our own skin in the game.

Your individual fee includes a group at the same frequency: weekly individual therapy includes a weekly group at no additional cost. Group sessions beyond your individual frequency are $10 each. The group-only rate is $25 per session. Building Better Relationships, our trauma and recovery intensive, is $50 per session for 12 sessions. Anger Management and Feelings 101 are priced as regular groups.

EVERY-OTHER-WEEK INDIVIDUAL + WEEKLY GROUP
≈ $20
a month in group fees
MONTHLY INDIVIDUAL + WEEKLY GROUP
≈ $30
a month in group fees

In monthly terms, approximately: every-other-week individual + weekly group ≈ $20/month in group fees; monthly individual + weekly group ≈ $30/month. And the scale of what sits inside the fee is real: a weekly group that would cost $200 or more a month at typical market rates is included with weekly individual therapy.

The pricing is set for access on purpose: a group only does its work if people can afford to keep showing up. The full group catalog and how enrollment works are on the groups page.

THE MARKET, AS OF 2026

What Does Therapy Usually Cost in Atlanta?

Typical Atlanta, private payThe Community
Individual session$130 to $225Set by each therapist (see each therapist’s page); limited reduced-fee sessions
Group, beyond frequency$50 to $60$10
Group-only$50 to $60$25

Typical Atlanta rates as of 2026: private-pay individual therapy runs $130 to $225 per session, and a typical group session runs $50 to $60.

Against that market, The Community’s individual rates sit inside the typical range (each therapist’s rate is on their page), and a limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Our $10 beyond-frequency and $25 group-only session rates, and a group at your frequency carried in the individual fee, are priced deliberately low. We’re not claiming the market is wrong; therapists’ costs are real. We’ve structured differently on purpose, and the group economics above are how. Groups here are not an upsell. They’re the point.

How Does the Sliding Scale Work?

A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult. Low-fee spots are limited and vary by therapist. A reduced fee is set with your therapist at the free 15-minute consult, as a conversation, with no documentation demanded and no proof-of-income paperwork; willingness matters more than the number you land on.

“I hope we see enough people who can pay well that we can help people who can't.”

Why Self-Pay?

We don’t bill insurance. We keep pricing simple and set fees with you directly on a sliding scale. At your request, we can provide superbills you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typical Atlanta private-pay individual therapy runs $130 to $225 per session as of 2026, and a typical group session runs $50 to $60. At The Community, each therapist sets their own rate, and each therapist’s rate is on their page. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult.

Your individual fee includes a group at the same frequency, so weekly individual therapy comes with a weekly group at no additional cost. Beyond your individual frequency, group sessions run $10 each, and the group-only rate is $25 per session, against a typical Atlanta group rate of $50 to $60 as of 2026. Building Better Relationships, our trauma and recovery intensive, is $50 per session for 12 sessions. Anger Management and Feelings 101 are priced as regular groups.

No. We don’t bill insurance. We keep pricing simple and set fees with you directly on a sliding scale. At your request, we can provide superbills you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Self-pay also keeps your records private and means no diagnosis is required for you to start therapy, and no third party justifies or denies its continuation as you change, get better, and become more whole.

A sliding scale means a reduced per-session fee, based on what you can pay and set in a conversation with your therapist. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult. Low-fee spots are limited and vary by therapist. There’s no qualification process and no documentation demanded; you talk honestly about your situation, and the two of you land on the number. The practice believes that as people get better and see the value of services, they will find resources to continue and want to move toward paying full rate if and when possible. While we do believe there should be skin in the game, it should not be detrimental to one’s ability to live.

Yes. For our individual clients, a group at your frequency is carried in the fee you already pay, sessions beyond that frequency are $10 each, and the group-only rate is $25 versus $50 to $60 for a typical Atlanta group. And in the research, group therapy produces outcomes comparable to individual therapy for many conditions; the evidence is on our why community page.
