Erica Welsh
The therapist for thoughtful, capable people who have become overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected despite doing everything they know to do. She brings a rare balance of directness and tenderness, challenging clients to look deeper while offering genuine care, understanding, and safety.
Who Erica Works With
Erica’s person is the one who has it managed. Managed the childhood, managed the marriage, managed this morning’s crisis before coffee, and would like it noted for the record that therapy is probably unnecessary. She works with high-conflict couples and families, with trauma that has been outrun for years, and with the kind of anxious, brilliant overthinking that treats every feeling as a math problem to be solved from a safe distance.
If your thoughts move faster than your feelings can keep up, that speed is exactly what she knows how to work with: not by slowing you down with worksheets, but by helping the thinking and the feeling finally arrive in the same room. She sees adults, teens 14 and up, couples, and families.
How a Session With
Erica Works
The formal part of a first session with Erica lasts about two minutes; after that it’s just two people talking. She will intentionally check in with you throughout the first few sessions, inviting questions, concerns, and reactions to the therapeutic process. She wants to ensure you feel comfortable and empowered within the relationship, which sets the foundation for a safe experience to do the hard work. Her encouragement to clients is, “Find the person you need. It’s okay if it’s not me.” Expect humor, expect directness, and expect her to notice the feelings you are working hard to evade.
Erica's Groups at The Community
Erica leads the practice’s two course-format groups; the full catalog and enrollment details live on the groups page.
Feelings 101
An interactive and fun course in identifying, understanding, and practicing emotional skills, for therapy newcomers as well as seasoned clients who want to refine their emotional language. Her promise to the nervous newcomer: “We’ve got you. This is a group of the safest and most experienced people I know.”
Anger Management
A skills-based course for adults in Georgia on understanding anger, recognizing patterns of escalation, and responding intentionally rather than reacting. An official completion certificate is available for participants who need documentation for court requirements.
Teens 14 and up see Erica individually; teen work at The Community is individual work.

Before This Work
Erica’s primary interest in life has always been understanding why people do what they do. From her first middle school research paper on “Dreams” to her undergraduate Anthropology degree, she has sought to understand people in their context and to help make sense of the world we share.

Frequently Asked Questions
Erica sees adults, couples, families, and teens fourteen and up, individually. Her home ground is the fast thinker whose handling has stopped working: high-conflict couples, trauma that resurfaces under pressure, and the overthinker who can explain everything and still can’t feel any of it.
Erica facilitates the Anger Management course and Feelings 101. Anger Management is a 12-week closed virtual course on Thursdays at 6:30 PM, enrolling now; Feelings 101 is coming Spring 2027. Both are adults eighteen and over and both begin with a screening conversation with her. An official completion certificate is available for participants who need documentation for court requirements.
Yes, individually. Teen clients work individually with Erica or Grey. Teens never join adult groups; as our teen community grows, we form groups specifically for them. Parents can start the conversation through the main line or by emailing her directly from this page.
Erica’s rate is $165/hour ($270 for 90 minutes), and it already covers a group at the same frequency as your individual work. Couples and family sessions run at the same rate. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available. Ask at your consult.
